Jolivet Petite Suite-Flute, Viola and Harp-Editions Musicales Transatlantiques
Flute (doubling piccolo), Viola and Harp
French composer André Jolivet (1905-1974) composed music with ancient and modern influences. At a young age, he studied cello and painting and later went on to study at teaching training college. During this time, one of his teachers recognised his compositional talents and he became a student of Paul Le Flem. He later had a keen interest in Schoenberg and atonality and became a student of Edgar Vares. Jolivet was also heavily influenced by Claude Debussy, Paul Dukas and Maurice Ravel.
